Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge 22

I made this card for the latest Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge which is White plus 2 Colours with a Twist. I went for Gold and Brown as my two colours and I was pleased with the outcome.

The image is "Dare to Dream' from Whiff of Joy which I coloured with Promarkers. I cut the image out using one of the new Spellbinders Nestabilities - Fleur De Lis Rectangles. The background paper is from Craftwork Cards Confetti collection. The flowers are Trellis Roses and Sweetheart Blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon is from my stash. I added some sparkle to the flowers and the dress of the image with some Glamour Dust but it does not show very well in the photo.

This  Birthday Card is for a dear friend of my family. I wanted something elegant without being too formal and I am very pleased with how this turned out considering I had no idea where to start when I sat down at my crafting table. It is funny how sometimes a project can just come together and yet other times you can sit for ages before an idea comes to you.

For the image on this card I used stamps from a set called Birds of Paradise -  Peacock from Kanban. I embossed them with WOW! Powders, Clear Fine over the black bird and Verdigris on the cage and vine. I distressed the edges of the image with a French Blue Color Box Chalk ink pad and mounted it on a piece of gold flecked navy blue card which was in my stash. The back ground paper is by K&Co. but it is one I have has a while and I can not remember which collection. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon, gems and peel-off are from my stash.

Smile Train

I hadn't realised how long it had been since I had posted last but I have a good excuse, well two really. Firstly I have had a chest infection which I have not been able to shake and I have not felt like crafting and so I did not have anything to write about. Secondly, when I did feel up to crafting, I have been frantically making Easter cards to sell at Church to help raise funds for our Lenten Charity Smile Train Smile Train is a Charity that repairs cleft  lips and palates of Children who live in poverty and would otherwise have no access to medical care. Please take some time to look at their web site, it is a wonderful charity.

The card above is just one of the many cards I have made. The cross is a Medallion stamp from Creative Expressions called Kilkenny Cross. I stamped it 4 times and then cut down and coloured the layers before constructing them into one cross using foam squares to give it height. The papers are from the K&Co Luxury paper pack, it is hard to see but the brocade pattern from the background of the blue paper also runs through the white paper. I added some extra sparkle to the swirls with Star Dust Stickles but it has not shown up well in the photo. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the ribbons are from my stash as is the silver peel off sentiment 'Happy Easter' which also does not show up too well in the photo.
